SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Advisory Services
Most compensation problems in SuccessFactors start as pay design problems. The plan rules were never written down clearly, eligibility logic lives in a spreadsheet, and permissions set at go-live were never revisited. Grahall works on the client’s side of the table to fix that. We are compensation consultants who know the system well. We are not a system integrator, and we do not sell licenses or implementation hours.
Compensation Policy-to-System Review
Sometimes called a health check. A fixed-fee review of the Compensation and Variable Pay setup against the organization’s actual pay policy. We look at plan templates, eligibility and business rules, guidelines and budgets, role-based permissions, approval routing and the audit trail. AI tools read the configuration exports and permission reports in full, which a manual review rarely has time for, and a Grahall consultant verifies every finding. The client receives a ranked list of gaps between policy and system, each with a recommended fix and an owner. Most reviews take three to four weeks.
Compensation Cycle Design and Client-Side Delivery
For a new rollout, a redesign, or an annual cycle that has become painful to run. Grahall owns the compensation side of the project: requirements, plan design decisions, configuration workbooks, test scripts, user acceptance testing and manager communications. The client’s administrators or implementation partner carry out the configuration.
Controls and Audit Remediation
Audit findings on compensation tend to repeat: pay changes made outside the cycle, overrides with no approval trail, thresholds that exist in policy but not in the system. We turn findings into functional requirements, design the warning and hard-stop rules, document the control framework and prepare the evidence auditors ask for at follow-up.
Joule and AI Readiness for Compensation Data
SAP is building Joule and AI agents into SuccessFactors, and those tools work with whatever permissions and data are already in place. Before a client switches them on, we review who can see what in compensation, clean up the data the AI will draw on, and set governance for AI-assisted pay recommendations. We also test those recommendations for adverse impact using the same statistical methods we apply in pay equity audits.
Cycle Support Retainer
A design authority on call through each annual cycle and each SuccessFactors release, for a fixed monthly fee.
Working With Your Implementation Partner
Grahall does not perform configuration that requires SAP Provisioning access, build integrations or resell software. Where a project needs that work, we operate alongside the client’s administrators or SAP implementation partner and keep the compensation requirements, testing and sign-off on track.
Why Grahall
Grahall has advised boards, compensation committees and management on pay for more than 30 years. Our consultants have run compensation cycles from the inside as heads of compensation, as well as advising on them. We work only for the client. We hold no SAP partnership and accept no referral fees from integrators or software vendors, so our advice is not shaped by what anyone might sell next.
