The Director, Bank Retail and Operations Compensation is responsible for consulting with business leaders to design and develop compensation programs that motivate and retain top talent and ultimately drive business performance.

Job Description

  • Lead team of compensation analysts to drive compensation program design and development for Bank Operations and the Retail Distribution Network
  • Work with senior business leaders to understand business drivers and translate these into pay programs that both meet business needs and align to overall corporate plans
  • Provide ongoing compensation solutions that factor in business drivers and market context ensuring that salary structures, incentive and long-term compensation plans are aligned and provide a strong linkage between pay and performance
  • Manage programs involving support for corporate pay platforms and line of business specific pay – establishing metrics and monitoring program effectiveness
  • Collaborate across teams in Human Resources to ensure effective and compliant delivery of pay programs

Basic Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 6 years experience of progressive compensation design and program management; experience managing the work of compensation analysts to deliver results

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8-10 years experience of progressive compensation design and program management; experience managing the work of compensation analysts to deliver results
  • Masters Degree
  • Specific experience in developing compensation programs in a Banking environment
  • Understanding of business economics and ability to translate into programs that drive desired behaviors
  • Superior technical knowledge of compensation programs and practices; experience in evaluating competitive landscape affecting reward practices
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to structure technical work
  • Exceptional consultative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills both inside and outside of HR, engaging stakeholders to achieve a common vision
  • Program management experience with proven track record in delivering results; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

Executive Compensation Consulting Senior Associate

POSITION SUMMERY

Prominent Accounting and Consulting firm is seeking an Executive Compensation Consulting Senior Associate for our Human Capital Consulting practice in Chicago.  This position will focus on assisting firm partners and clients with a variety of executive compensation related issues, including those arising from recent legislation and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide executive compensation consulting services to clients, including cash and equity based incentive plan design, plan implementation and benchmarking of total compensation
  • Work on projects that involve key regulatory areas impacting executive pay, including accounting, tax and proxy statement disclosure
  • Provide project management including day-to-day responsibility for client deliverables, report preparation, directing staff in completing analysis, and presenting findings
  • Address, research, and consult on complex technical issues specific to executive compensation
  • Provide timely and creative responses to technical inquiries from firm partners and managers, and clients
  • Serve as a technical and business advisor to clients
  • Facilitate and participate in firm-wide training and communications relating to compensation consulting matters
  • Provide thought leadership externally and within the firm

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The Executive Director of Human Resources has direct responsibility for all compensation and benefit programs, employment processes, organizational development and training, and HR information systems, to include executive compensation, health and retirement plans and talent management. This position is responsible for strategic planning and budgeting and has significant interaction at the senior level regarding executive benefits and compensation, benefit plan design and HR systems. This position has a staff of approximately 16 employees, to include 5 managers over each key area of responsibility as referenced below.

The Human Resources Organization includes approximately 50 employees. In addition to the functions reporting directly to the Executive Director of Human Resources, Human Resources include other functional areas and directors overseeing Environmental Health & Safety, Loss Prevention/Security, Labor and Employee Relation, and Divisional HR operations. All directors and associates in all HR functional areas have a responsibility to work together as an effective and coordinated team of HR professionals in support of Unified’s goals and objectives.

The successful candidate will possess the following: a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field required; a minimum of 7 -10 years of broad and deep experience as an HR generalist; knowledge of HR business processes, with a particular emphasis on the areas of workforce planning, organization design, compensation, benefits; ability to effectively work with the executive leadership team; experience with the development and implementation of innovative approaches to managing human capital; expertise in designing and implementing proactive strategies to address business issues; strong process orientation; ability to provide vision and leadership; and superior oral and written communication skills. HR Implementation Consultant/Project Manager
